Jump to recipe

Have you had Guava before? If you like tropical fruits and you haven’t had Guava, you are missing out. Guava is a the top of my favorite fruits, it’s so fragrant, it smell like summer and happiness. My Dad used to make guava smoothies when I was a kid and I still the remember the taste and smell of it. I made my own version of it, dairy free and sugar free but really, Guavas don’t need more than a little sugar, they have the magic to make smoothies incredibly creamy. Try it!

Guava trees grow in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and northern South America so, when I saw them at my local grocery store I could not wait to get my hands on them.

Guavas are also a little tricky, just like avocados. The softest guavas are the sweeter ones but be careful because they can go from ripe and sweet to perished in one day! They are also rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. It is great in jams, pies, cakes, pastries and drinks.

Now, I want to tell you about this beautiful reusable straw, it is from Adoric. They are ecofriendly, super easy to wash (they come with their own brush) and also so pretty! The set comes with 8 Stainless Steel Straws in different size to match different cups.

About

Hello, my name is Marisol Chancellor. I was born and raised in Monterrey Mexico. I’ve been living in Texas for 12 years, and even when I love barbeque, fruit cobblers, and sweet tea, there’s something that has the power of transporting me right back to my mom’s kitchen and gives me a little piece of home; cooking. I grew up in the kitchen and for me, memories are always linked to food, and behind the food, well, there’s always a story that comes along. So, please let me share with you my love for cooking and while we are at it, let’s share some memories, because let’s be honest, we are also hungry for nostalgia.
